Lagos based afro-dancehall rising star and Davido Music Worldwide signee MIGHTYYOUT (pronounced Mighty Yute) is excited to unveil his highly anticipated debut EP MIGHTYYARD – a focused high-impact set that fuses dancehall, afrobeats, and Lagos street grit to glorious effect. Patiently crafted with his tight circle of friends-turned-producers and previewed by fan-favourite teaser tracks over the past 12 months, ‘Wetin Dey Sup’, ‘I’m With You’, and ‘Paradise’, which have garnered over two million plays online, the Mightyyard EP arrives with real momentum. Momentum that has also led to a recent sold-out headline concert in Boxpark Croydon, a mainstage performance at the highly coveted Mainland Block Party, and early tastemaker support across the continent from The NATIVE, Pulse Nigeria, Culture Custodian, NotJustOK, and Chop Daily, among others.

At the spine of his Mightyyard EP is survival – born in Rivers State, Mightyyout escaped a near-fatal attack in Port Harcourt, and fled to Lagos under threat, where he then suffered a serious motor accident that kept him on crutches for eight months. Returning to the booth after a brief hiatus, Mightyyout discovered a ritual that has stuck – recording in total darkness, or as he puts it, “No lights. No eyes. Just me, the mic, and whatever spirit shows up.” From a vault of over 500 songs, he has carved a focused statement with this EP that balances dancehall heat and afrobeats bounce, spiritual textures, mindful lyricism and feel-good vibes. Throughout, Mightyyout highlights his resonant sound and global outlook, flowing fluidly between romantic pull-ups, street anthems, and reflective missives, with the closing track ‘Story’ offering an unvarnished testimony of faith, scars and forward motion.

Driven by Mightyyout’s soul-stirring vocals, powerful storytelling, and infectious melodies, with sublime production from long-time collaborators including Oracle and Wondavii, as well as guest appearances from afrobeats legend Davido and dancehall icon Popcaan, Mightyyard reveals an artist engineered for global stages without losing the detail, colour and cadence of the streets that shaped him. Serving as a first chapter and foundation stone for Mightyyout, Mightyyard is roots, resilience and rhythm distilled into seven resounding tracks that feel intimate yet ready for arenas. It captures the duality powering his rise – a streaming footprint that’s biggest in the UK, and a voice unmistakably Nigerian in cadence and conviction. The result is a debut that moves bodies and steadies spirits – the sound of a survivor-artist turning pain into pulse, and patience into purpose.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the Mightyyard EP, Mightyyout says, “This EP means the world to me. It’s happiness for my friends and family who’ve been listening to these records with me for years. Most importantly, it means freedom. For the longest time, I’ve held these songs hostage, and finally letting them out now means more will follow. My heart is at peace knowing the world will now get to experience the talent God has blessed me with. I knew I had to do something special with this EP, because I know I’m different – in how I make music and how I connect with it. That inspired me to embrace the process, take the struggles in front of me, and turn them into something beautiful. It gave me the freedom to truly express myself and bring my vision to life. It was a long process, but enjoyable, because I had the freedom to truly express myself and bring my vision to life”.
