AMAARAE LONDON HOXTON: REVIEW

One thing west-African artist Amaarae is going to do is bring out all the bad bitches. bringing all things of the best in the Alte sector, Amaarae has certified herself as the upcoming poster girl for all things alternative coming out of the African diaspora.

Blessing fans at Hoxton London earlier this month, the songstress bought an all-acoustic band with her to accustom her unique vocals.  What particularly surprised me is the artist’s ability to match the sound we hear in our earphones to her live experience. True to her vocal ability, Amaarae bought her high-pitched controlled self to her show and absolutely shocked us with riffs and on chores.

Guests included Kojey Radical, who came on to perform Jumping Ship alongside the singer and continued to do a rendition of Destiny Child’s Say My Name.

While the artists didn’t perform her full discography – which is rather short- she made sure to cover all the most listened to songs including, SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY, LEAVE ME ALONE, CELINE AND LEAVE ME ALONE.
