Everything you need to know about Avatar 2

‘The Way of Water’ is the official name for Avatar 2 and as expected the movie will be packed with breathtaking visuals when it will be released on Dec 17, 2022.

Director James Cameron told the media that he was hard at work putting the final touches on the film. He revealed that the decision to set the majority of the movie underwater is one of the several factors why it has taken so long to arrive. Cameron is responsible for two of the three highest-grossing movies of all time: Avatar (2009) and Titanic (1997).

The President of 20th Century Studios, Steve Asbell, teased that the sequel is “going to blow people away”, adding: “You’re not ready for what Jim is doing.”

You should remember the global film phenomenon Avatar which is James Cameron’s CG smash hit, Avatar still holds the record for highest box-office gross sales, with a comfortable margin over the director’s other smash hit, Titanic. Since then the movie’s director Cameron has teased with a promised two sequels, later bumping up to three, and then again t0 four.

Here’s everything you need to know as you wait to return to the alien landscape of Pandora. The movie was originally scheduled for December 2014, with the third a year later, which of course didn’t happen. The current official for Avatar 2 is Dec 17, 2022 and the core cast from the original Avatar are all on-board.

So it’s anticipated to cast Zoe Soldana as Na’vi princess Neytiri and Sam Worthington as human-turned-Navi’ Jake Sully. Games of Thrones’ Oona Chaplain and Fear the Walking Dead’s Cliff Curtis will also be joing the sequels, along with Kate Winslet playing the role of Ronal in the Avatar universe.

In terms of plot, Sully is now the Chieftain and Neytiri is the high priestess of their clan – although events will apparently focus on their children. Not only is Lang somehow back as the Dead Colonel Miles Quaritch, but he’s going to be the main villain of Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5. Productions of all films is now well underway.
