GenB TV, the UK’s largest Black British TV channel, marked a milestone today by launching three immersive exhibitions at OUTERNET London. Created in partnership with top creatives, the exhibitions celebrate Black British innovation across various industries. The event, coinciding with Black History Month, attracted notable figures from arts, media, and business, and the exhibitions will remain open until November.
Pioneers of the Screen: Honoring Black British Icons
The first exhibition, Pioneers of the Screen: THEY WALKED, SO WE COULD RUN, celebrated Black British pioneers in entertainment. Honored figures included John Boyega, Naomie Harris, and the late Jamal Edwards. Christopher Kenna, CEO of GenB TV, expressed pride in spotlighting these trailblazers. Visual storyteller Sam Sheridan’s immersive design merged the legacies of past and present Black creatives.

Museum of Black Innovation: A 3D Digital Experience
The second exhibition, Museum of Black Innovation, offered a 3D journey highlighting Black British contributions in science and the arts. Curated by Farouk858, it honored innovators like Dame Margaret Aderin-Pocock and Dr. Amber Hill. Farouk858 shared hopes that the exhibition would inspire future generations by showcasing these trailblazers.

Black Heroes: Youth-Inspired Exhibition
In collaboration with Young Creators UK (YCUK), the third exhibition, Black Heroes, celebrated icons like Stormzy and David Lammy. A spoken word piece, THEY WALKED, SO WE COULD RUN, written by Chrissie Okorie, added a narrative element, showcasing how these figures have inspired young people.

Star-Studded Press Launch
The press launch featured appearances by actor Noel Clarke and filmmakers Imoje Aikhoje and Remi Branco. Attendees praised the exhibitions for thoughtfully celebrating Black British talent.
