British R&B singer-songwriter Joy Crookes has announced the delay of her European tour dates for spring 2022 due to Covid-19.
Hailing from South London, the indie soul 23-year-old songstress has been on her first official tour since the in-store UK gigs in October 2021. The Feet Don’t Fail Me Now singer is promoting and performing her first studio and debut album, Skin (2021).
Going by her full name Joy Elizabeth Akther Crookes, the musician took to her socials on Wednesday 26 January to announce the postponement of her upcoming February tour dates in Europe. Locations include Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and France.
Select dates have been moved to May 2022 due to the ongoing pandemic. The varying entry restrictions continues to make travelling between countries on consecutive days more difficult.
Joy posted to Facebook: “I’m really sorry to say that due to the ongoing situation with covid-19 we have to move our February EU tour. Everyone has been working really hard to move as many shows as possible to May and here are the new dates.
“Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to reschedule every date despite everyone’s best efforts. I’m really sorry, it’s a wild time right now and the availability just wasn’t there. We’ll do everything we can to get back out to those cities as soon as possible.”
She added: “For any questions please contact you point of purchase. Crooksie x”
Joy is currently nominated for a Best Pop/R&B Act award at the 2022 BRIT Awards in a category with Adele, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, and Griff. Voting is still open via TikTok until Thursday 3 February at 6pm. She was first nominated for a BRIT in 2020 for the Rising Star Award.
