The 2025 MOBO Awards are set to be one of the most exciting and culturally significant nights in the UK music calendar, bringing together an electrifying mix of talent, performances, and celebrations of Black music and culture. For the first time, the prestigious event will take place in Newcastle at the Utilita Arena tomorrow, February 18, 2025, and will be live-streamed globally on YouTube at 8 PM GMT, with a BBC One special airing on February 21.
The ceremony promises a show-stopping lineup featuring some of the biggest names in music today. Odeal, Nova Twins, Darkoo, DJ AG, Pozer, and LeoStayTrill are set to take the stage, along with an extraordinary R&B celebration curated by KISS radio host DJ Ace. This highly anticipated medley will unite powerhouse voices such as Jaz Karis, Nao, Sasha Keable, Shaé Universe, and UK R&B legend Shola Ama, showcasing the genre’s rich legacy and vibrant future.

Odeal, a triple nominee this year, is up for Best R&B/Soul Act, Best Newcomer, and Song of the Year for ‘Soh-Soh.’ His unique fusion of afrobeats and R&B has made waves in the industry, and his performance is expected to be a highlight of the night. Joining him is Darkoo, who is nominated for Best Female Act and Song of the Year, following the success of her hit ‘Favourite Girl’ featuring Dess Dior. The alternative rock duo Nova Twins, known for their high-energy performances, will also bring their genre-blending sound to the MOBO stage.
The lineup extends beyond traditional R&B and hip-hop, embracing the diversity that MOBO stands for. Renowned for his impromptu DJ sets across London, Tottenham native DJ AG will take to the stage, joined by some of the most exciting newcomers in the UK music scene. Pozer, nominated for Best Drill Act, and viral sensation LeoStayTrill, who boasts millions of monthly listeners and a nomination for Song of the Year with ‘Pink Lemonade,’ will both deliver thrilling performances.

Adding to the anticipation, previously confirmed performers include dancehall queen Spice, legendary UK rap duo Krept & Konan, and Bashy, making this one of the most diverse and star-studded MOBO Awards to date.

With Netflix’s hit series Supacell and stars from BBC’s EastEnders earning nominations in the Best Performance in a TV Show/Film category, MOBO continues to spotlight Black excellence across multiple entertainment platforms.
