The recording academy has announced the release date for the nomination list for the 65th Grammy Awards, which is to take place on February 5th, 2023 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

According to a post made on the official Grammy Instagram page, the nomination list will be revealed on November 15th, 2023. The first round of voting for the 65th Grammy Awards commenced on October 13th and is slated to run through October 25th. Voters will have 10 days to vote in the first round of voting and three weeks to vote in the second round.

The Grammy Awards return to the Crypto Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center, will mark the first time in three years and its 20th time in the venue. The shows in 2003 and 2018 were held at the Madison Square Garden in New York, while the 2021 Awards, after the COVID-19 pandemic, took place in the Convention Center in Los Angeles, allowing for social distancing, and the 2022 show was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The recording academy earlier announced that it has added five voting categories, which include Best Alternative Performance, Best Americana Performance, Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games And Other Interactive Media, and Best Spoken Word Poetry Album.

The Grammy Awards remain the biggest and most recognizable music industry award. Having begun on May 4th, 1959, the award recognizes outstanding performances in the music industry by giving them a trophy that depicts a gilded gramophone alongside the industry recognition that comes with being an awardee or nominee. The Grammys have been nominated for a top program Emmy eight times, dating back to 1977 (when the category was called outstanding achievement in coverage of special events), but have yet to win it.

In order to be eligible for the 2023 Grammy Award nomination list, music has to have been released between October 1st and September 30th, 2022. The 65th annual Grammy Awards will air live on CBS and be available for streaming on Paramount+.
