Prior to Drake’s surprise appearance at the Morehouse-Spelman homecoming concert headlined by 21 Savage for college students of both schools, Drake reveals the release date of his forthcoming joint album with 21 Savage ‘Her Loss’ in their new Jimmy Cooks video.

Jimmy Cooks was initially released in June off the Honestly, Nevermind album. 21’s feature is the only guest appearance on the project. Jimmy Cooks is seemingly a spin of Drizzy’s Degrassi: The Next Character, Jimmy Brooks. The track peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the album debuting on the Billboard 200 Chart.

The new visuals directed by Mahfuz Sultan appear to have been created mainly to announce the new album as it gives off a very relaxed setting. The video begins with a black and white scene where both artists are seen in an empty hall and transforms to the duo rapping at the backdrop of 9 different busy street scenes.

The music video was also launched to mark 21 Savage’s birthday as Drake revealed it a day before on social media.

A bit over a minute into the video, an inscription appears on the screen announcing the release of their joint album. “HER LOSS ALBUM BY DRAKE AND 21 SAVAGE OCTOBER 28, 2022”. The visuals continued with Drake and 21 casually relating before they make a sign-out.

Drake and 21 Savage have collaborated several times in the past few years in addition to Jimmy Cooks. 21 Savage appeared on Knife Talk on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy LP with Drake also making a guest appearance on Mr. Right Now from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II, Drake’s 2016 song Sneakin and Issa with Young Thug released via SoundCloud in 2017.

The forthcoming album Her Loss would make the duo’s first project together.
