Legendary rapper, Jay-Z has released the 2022 edition of his annual year-end picks exclusively on Tidal. The list is quite different from his previous editions as it includes Afrobeats/African/Nigerian artists like Burna Boy and Tems who obviously are new to this list. Burna Boy boy got the number 2 spot on his list with the global smash ‘Last Last‘ off his sixth studio album Love, Damini, and Tems on number 12 with the Billboard hit ‘Wait For U‘ led by Future and Drake.
Titled JAY-Z Year End Picks 2022, the playlist exhibits JAY-Z’s listening habits in the last 12 months and one thing is obvious; diversity. The music executive has been listening to different genres which include hip-hop, dance, afrobeats, reggaeton, pop, and R&B. The list transcends the United States and Canada as it includes international artists from Africa and the Caribbean.
The list consists of a total of 41 tracks and features songs from artists like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Rosalia, Beyonce, Metro Boomin, SZA, Lil Baby, Nas, Lil Yatchy, and Gunna, amongst many others.
