The Midlands is this weekend welcoming you to one of the biggest food festivals in the region. The Lichfield Food Festival showcases food and drink produced in the Staffordshire area.
Some of the food this region is known for are potato, maize, soft fruit, peas, and field beans.
Celebrity chefs will be showcasing their skills in a cookery theatre and among the guest chefs that are expected are Great British Off contestants Amanda Georgiou and George Aristido.

Amanda Georgiou had big hopes coming onto “The Great British Baking Show” but left the show after an ill-fated pastry disaster in week six. Even though she left earlier than expected, the 56-year-old mom of two native Londoners impressed everyone with her whimsical cake-making.

George Aristido competed in the 12th series of The Great British Bake Off last year. The 34-year-old father-of-three became the seventh contestant to be eliminated.
The two among other celebrity chefs will be showcasing their skills in a cookery theatre at this year’s Lichfield Food Festival. The event provides plenty of food and drinks options as more than 320 traders showcase their products in market stalls.
Visitors will have plenty of choices while they will be browsing, sampling, and buying goods. The festival is a perfect destination for friends and families to enjoy food and drink produced in the Staffordshire area.
The Staffordshire Live reports that on the menu there will be pork pies and chocolate truffles charcuterie and locally distilled gin.
“The festival will provide its visitors with plenty of variety for any taste buds”, said a spokesman for the event.
People will also be able to enjoy freshly made burgers and hot dogs, Chinese stir fry, Vietnamese curry, and much more, they said.
Vegans were not forgotten as there will be something for them. There will be several options for vegetarians and people who eat gluten-free options.
Lichfield Food Festival 2022Â will also have a cookery theatre with 150 deck chairs for visitors. Here people will have the chance to pick up some tips from top chefs, bakers, and industry experts.

They will be giving demonstrations on how to cook or bake some of their favorite food items. Bake Off stars Amanda Georgiou and George Aristidou will be among those taking part.
As the weekend is expected to be hot, dog-friendly water bowls will be positioned on every street in the city, said the spokesperson.

Entry to the Lichfield Food Festival is free. The main group of food stalls will be located on Bird Street and Market Street, with plenty of parking options open on the day.
