Fuse ODG is and has been one of the solid pillars of Ghanaian and African music over the years. The British-Ghanaian singer and songwriter enjoyed a massive breakthrough in the first half of the last decade (the 2010s), especially when he dropped the smash ‘Antenna‘, one of his most successful songs to date. Released back in June 2013, ‘Antenna‘ peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart, the song also peaked at number 85 on the Irish Singles Chart.
Born in London and raised in Ghana, Fuse returned to London for his secondary education, where he attended the Archbishop Lanfranc School, Croydon. He grew up in Mitcham, South London. The stage name “Fuse” comes from his fusion of musical styles, as he is known for his unusual combination of genres such as Afro-pop, hip-hop, R&B, funk and rock. “ODG”, meanwhile, stands for ‘Off Da Ground’ which doubles as his record label company.
Fuse ODG has had a good run in the music industry, although he’s observed a long hiatus from the music scene, he’s still kicking to this day. The singer-songwriter is back with a new single titled, What It Do. What It Do exhibits the vibrant nature of the artist as he conveys it into the song. The dancehall-infused track is produced by Salvathore, it sees Fuse ODG singing over the mellifluous and bouncy instrumentation of the track with lyrics such as, “hands up make I see you do the wulu lu, banger ima hit you with the jooku, gangster when you hit me with the bu, what it do make you coolu lu.”
